Ignite
ID2ID Program Ignite participants are eligible for an EDUCAUSE digital badge upon successful and verified completion of all the program requirements listed below. To meet these requirements, we highly recommend you meet with your mentor/mentee small group or peer/buddy regularly, at least bi-weekly, as it will greatly enhance your participation in the program.
Note: The program encourages participants to join as many times as they want however, only one Ignite badge can be issued per year per participant.
Ignite Digital Badge Requirements
Develop your goals
Each small group or pair is required to develop a minimum of two goals that are achievable in four months (16 weeks). Make sure these goals are substantial so you can work on these throughout the program, but specific and measurable so you can track your progress each week. Even though you share your goals with your buddy/mentor/mentee, each participant needs to submit the goals individually.
Due: Two weeks from the start of the program
Participant effort: 2 hours
Complete a mid-point reflection
Submit a reflection about the progress you and your small group/peer/buddy have made toward your goals. These can be a blog post, a joint video or in any other form. Write a 500-1000 word reflection or submit a 2-4 minute video. Reflections should focus on successes, challenges, and strategies that you and your small group/peer/buddy have addressed.
Due: Week 9
Participant effort: 1 hour
Attend a professional development activity
Plan and attend or participate in a professional development activity with your mentor/mentee small group or peer/buddy. An activity may be attending a conference, attending a local professional development event, attending virtual events, participating in a MOOC, or reading a book together. Consider professional development opportunities that support your goals. Write a brief (250 word minimum) synopsis of the activity. In your synopsis, explain how this event contributes to your professional growth as well as your progress toward one or more of your goals in this program.
Due: Week 12
Participant effort: 2 hours
Attend and discuss an ID2ID Program conclave
The ID2ID Program will offer 30-minute conclaves supporting participants and their stated interests. Attend one conclave and discuss what you learned from the conclave with a colleague (not a member of your ID2ID small group, peer or buddy). Write a brief synopsis of that discussion, around 250 words in paragraph form.
Due: Week 14
Participant effort: 2 hours
Submit a report about your goals
Submit a report about the progress you and your small group/peer/buddy have made toward your goals. Note that completion of goals, due to different circumstances, may extend beyond the program duration and could relate to your participation in the Engage or Accelerate community of practice tiers. Write a 500-1000 word report or submit a 2-4 minute video. The report should focus on what you achieved as an individual, as a small group/peer/buddy, challenges in achieving your goals, outstanding goals, your plan to complete your goals, and how meeting your goals helped develop you as a professional.
The report must be written and submitted individually however, if you have shared goals, your small group/peer/buddy, you can choose to write the report or film a video together.
Due: Week 15
Participant effort: 2 hours
Complete a final reflection
Submit a reflection about your experience in the ID2ID program including activities you completed with your small group/peer/buddy. These can be a blog post, a joint video or in any other form. Write a 500-1000 word reflection or submit a 2-4 minute video. Reflections should focus on successes, challenges, and strategies that you and your small group/peer/buddy have addressed.
Due: Week 15
Participant effort: 1 hour
Complete Midpoint and Final Evaluations
Participants are required to complete two evaluations, one midpoint (week 9) and one final (week 15). Links to the evaluations will be in Canvas. Participants are also encouraged to provide feedback at any point during the program by sending an email to id2id@psu.edu.
Accelerate
ID2ID Program Accelerate participants are eligible for an EDUCAUSE digital badge upon successful and verified completion of a mini-capstone project.
Requirements for the mini-capstone project
Using ideas and materials you developed through the Engage or Ignite tiers, create an artifact you could submit or that you have submitted to a professional community and/or in your current organization.
Qualifying submissions are limited to the following:

Provide evidence of this by submitting a link to your article, a copy of your proposal and presentation, or other proof of your contribution to a community or association.
The submission must be accompanied by a short essay or video explaining how the artifact could be used or implemented. Be sure you answer the following questions in your essay/video:
- What organization/s could you submit your artifact to?
- How do you intend this artifact to be used within the organization/s?
- Who is your intended audience? (other IDs? Faculty? etc.)
- What gap in the profession are you trying to fill?
